The College of Diplomates Announces New Officers and Councilors
The College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics installed new officers and councilors during its annual meeting held July 19-23, 2012 at The Inn at Bay Harbor, Bay Harbor, Michigan.
The College installed Dr. Michael Guess of El Dorado Hills, California as president; Dr. Robert Moss of Albany, Georgia as president-elect; Dr. Kimsey Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico as secretary and Dr. Kenneth M. Hrechka of Oxon Hill, Maryland as treasurer. Dr. James Williams of Austin, Texas, Dr. Paul Miller of Quincy, Illinois and Dr. Terry Sobler of New City, New York were installed as senior councilors. Dr. Bruce Goldstein of Scottsdale, Arizona was installed as new incoming councilor. Dr. Eric Dellinger of Angola, Indiana will continue to serve on the College Council. Dr. Rodney Hyduk of Troy, Michigan was honored for his contributions as 2011-2012 president and will continue to serve on the Council as the immediate past president.
The 2012 Samir Bishara Award of Merit was presented to Dr. John Kanyusik. John has been an active member of the College since 1984. Initially, John directed the College courses for those preparing for the ABO Clinical Exam. John joined the Council in 1992 and served through his presidency in 2001. Currently John is chair of the CDABO/ABO Advocacy Committee supporting board certification in the orthodontic residency programs and serves on the College Foundation Board.
The 2013 College of Diplomates' Annual Meeting will be July 21-25 at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel in Bermuda. Registration materials will be posted at www.cdabo.org and mailed to members next spring.
The College of Diplomates was founded in 1979 to stimulate improvement among orthodontists, to encourage orthodontists to become board-certified and to educate the public and the dental profession on the benefits of board certification.
